How Dimmer handles your account and lighting data.
Dimmer privacy information Updated 7 November 2026
Dimmer controls compatible Plejd lights from Windows using Bluetooth.
When you sign in, the app sends your Plejd email address and password over HTTPS directly to Plejd's cloud service. It retrieves your installation's device names, configuration and Bluetooth mesh key to connect to your own lights. Plejd operates that account service under its own privacy policy: https://www.plejd.com/privacy-policy
After a successful sign-in, Dimmer saves your Plejd email, password and last connected installation identifier in Windows Credential Manager for your Windows user on this PC. This lets the app sign in and reconnect on later launches. It does not store passwords in ordinary app files. Sign out removes this saved credential and stops automatic reconnection; closing the app keeps the saved sign-in. Other software running under your Windows account may be able to access generic Windows credentials, so protect access to that account.
Device configuration and the Bluetooth mesh key stay in the app and its local connection component's memory for the session. Windows itself may manage process memory, diagnostics and paging under your operating-system settings.
Brightness commands and light-state notifications travel locally over Bluetooth. Dimmer does not send these commands to a developer-operated server. There is no advertising, telemetry, analytics SDK or developer-operated account service.
Demo mode uses fictional rooms and brightness values. It does not sign in, scan for Bluetooth devices or send commands to physical lights.
Microsoft operates the Store purchase, installation and update services under its own terms and privacy statement. Dimmer does not receive your payment-card details.
